It all kicked off right here on Mission Beach when I was just a kid visiting, taking lessons. I still remember the first wave I ever caught—I was a little wobbly, but the second I stood up on that board, with the ocean stretching out in front of me, I was hooked. That feeling of gliding across the water, the salty air in my face, and the pure freedom of it all… I knew I’d found something special.

Since that day, I’ve been chasing waves every chance I get. I’ve surfed all over, from the chill breaks here in San Diego to some wild waves in Hawaii that really stoked me. Over the years, I’ve learned so much—not just about surfing, but about myself. The ocean has this way of teaching you patience, respect, and how to go with the flow (literally!). I’ve also met some of my best friends out there on the water, sharing stories and laughs between sets. Surfing’s been my happy place, my escape, and honestly, it’s made me who I am today.

After more than a decade of riding waves, I started thinking about how I could share this love with others. That’s when Surf’s Up Mission Beach was born. I wanted to create a space where anyone—whether you’ve never touched a board or you’re ready to tackle bigger waves—could feel the same stoke I’ve felt for 15+ years. I’m all about making surfing fun, approachable, and unforgettable. When you take a lesson with me, it’s not just about learning to stand up on a board; it’s about feeling the magic of the ocean and walking away with a huge smile.
